A welcoming and relaxing reception room for a beautiful Edwardian family house…
Our client wanted to give life to a room which wasn’t really being used, they wanted to create a reception room fit for guests as well as family life. The room links the hall way with the kitchen and had become more of a corridor than a useable room. The family wanted to be able to use the room as it was intended; to host friends and family and enjoy the large bay window and beautiful feature fireplace. An inviting space when people enter the house, but most importantly a room in itself and not just a walk-though to the kitchen.
The style is fairly modern, however, we were keen to ensure it was in keeping with the rest of the house. The colour palette is relaxing yet interesting with pops of colour to add detail an interest. We wanted to introduce a mix of materials and textures, including velvet, wool, glass and wood; again, adding interest to the scheme. The touches of brass tie in with the clients’ existing framed artwork and give a feeling of luxury to the room.
