A shower room in a loft conversion, transformed into a full bathroom with striking blue tiles…
We have previously worked on this clients’ family bathroom which we created in a beautiful marble; they invited us back to work on their shower room in the loft conversion, this time looking for something more vibrant. The main objective was to find the space to include a luxurious bath tub, as well as a shower, into the room. Mainly serving the master bedroom, this was to have a different feel to the family bathroom and therefore, interesting lighting was also a priority.
The landing space, serving the master bedroom and bathroom, was also an issue. This area was wasted space and required better storage, whilst visually flowing well into both rooms.
The choice of the blue tiles in this Lily pad pattern gives a really bold statement as you come up the stairs and enter the bathroom. By continuing the use of the tiles from the floor up the back wall, leads your eye further into the room and therefore, makes it feel larger. We removed the existing wall forming the shower cubicle and introduced a low level shower tray, in a matching colour to the tiles, with a bespoke glass shower screen. By doing this we were able to include a large bath tub as well as basin with storage and wc. We included 3 layers of light: task light spotlights; accent lights to highlight the tiles; ambient low level lights around the bath.
For the landing space, we designed a bespoke chest of drawers and a low bench, tailored perfectly for shoes, with the addition of a bespoke padded seat in a colourful velvet. By designing these pieces ourselves, we were able to ensure we made best use of the space and were able to accommodate our clients requirements for what they wanted to store.
